Alan #Turing, a broken heart, and the invention of the computer

You can listen to a recent lecture by Dr Jon Agar, of University College London, called "Alan Turing, a broken heart, and the invention of the computer." The lecture gives a very good biography of Turing including his notable scientific achievements and the events surrounding his conviction and tragic suicide. You can download the lecture as a podcast or listen below.

Jon Agar has also published a book about Turing called "Turing and the Universal Machine: The Making of the Modern Computer," which is more solely focused on Turing than my book, "The Universal Machine - from the dawn of computing to digital consciousness" that covers the entire history of computing to the present day plus a look into the future.
