There will be a public lecture on Alan Turing's halting problem this Thursday evening (June 26) at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Professor Cristian Calude will give a lecture titled Alan Turing and the Unsolvable Problem: To Halt or Not to Halt - That is the Question. The lecture will explain and explore the theories that led to Turing's invention of the Turing Machine and the implications that follow from this including, obviously, the halting problem.
The lecture starts at 6:00 pm with complimentary refreshments before at 5:30 pm. If you can't attend the lecture will be available as a webcast. More information about the speaker, the lecture and venue information here.
Thanks for the info - but April 26 :-)
